Buying a photo printer..Any Advice?

Looking to spend $150- $225.

Does anyone have experience with these? Any certain ones to avoid? etc...

The consumables are all expensive on the low end printers. I have one of the cheapest, a discontinued HP 5940 which I purchased when I saw the consumables for my last one cost more than replacing it...

Since I rarely print pictures or do colors it isn't a big deal for me but if you actually want to use it a lot I would suggest rasing your budget and looking at a color laser printer.

All ink jets & bubble jets i.e. using small color cartridges are a complete hassle, waste of money and waste of time and infuriating and end up costing more than a laser jet which of course a color laser jet printer starts at about $800 maybe if your lucky on ebay it would be lower.

I use a B & W Canon imageclass laser for most of my stuff and when I need a color picture I use a Kodak Printer Dock for my DigiCam and other stuff.

I will never use a jet ink type printer again.
