I hate the proggies that shrink the original info.

I use DVD decrypter (sp) and use dual layer DVD disk to back up my movie collection!

This way no compression and it is an exact copy of the original!

Don't know if this thread goes against rule 11. of the forum rules, but anyway...

In addition to a DVD ripping program, you might need another program that runs at the same time or before to decrypt the DVD, similar to the Region free and region killer programs. There is also probably a program that has these in the same program (ripper + copy protect removal). Back in the day
I used a program called Alcohol CD (I think that was the name) to share my playstation games online.

As long as you are using dual layer blanks no other program is needed.

And it looks like ass...compression sucks. There;s a reason why original dvds aren't compressed.

Most original dvds don't need to be compressed on single layer dvds. If you take movie only and get rid of the extras. Most movies I watch have worthless shit on their extras anyway. I would recommend dual layer for really long movies (green mile, forrest dump, etc...)
