buick grand national questions
i want one badly!
what is reasonable milage and price on a gnx or a t type grand national? for the past few months ive been researching and checking out the lc2 and the power it can make and the havoc it can wreak, and im come to the realization that i want one. doubting of course that i'll get one for a while, i still would like any and all information anyone possesses about these ultra sweet turbo boxes.
help me out guys, these cars are just shit hot nasty.....

I would steer clear of GNX's. The last few I have watched on eBay have been north of $50k. They're sweet. But damn, they're pricey.
I would go with a clean GN. I am guessing they are still attainable for the $15-$20k range in good shape with 50k or less on the clock. But ya never know. These cars have always been strong when it comes to how much $$$ they bring and lately they seem to be getting stronger.
Good luck on your search either way. The cars are a blast to drive and love to be modded. I hope to get one in the future myself.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
One of my friends picked up a clean turbo Regal for around $8K about a year ago. Car had about 60K on the odometer. It was owned by the proverbial "little old lady". Actually it was her late husbands car that she was selling sinced he had passed away and she had no need of it. His folks knew her and knew their son wanted the car.

My GN had 27,000 miles on it and i picked it up for 9k. It had shitty paint because it sat in the texas sun for a long time without upkeep. The paint wasn't that bad it just wasn't perfect.
Want to know how much work it is to make them fast? Here is a list of proven build-ups.

I used to work At Greed-Body... I mean G-Body parts. And have owned 1.5 monte carlos. lol
Anyways i know these cars inside and out. You got the GNX, GN, WE4, And T-Type. The GN and T-type are identical perfromance wise, only difference is the paint! The WE4 is a stripped Down GN. GNXs while good stock car easily be out performed by a modded T-type or GN a fraction of the price. Awsome Cars, And respond well to mods. When i worked at Gbodys there was a T-Type with a modded suspesion, Only motor mod was uped boost. It ran 10's...
My friend Picked up a Nice T-Type For under 10 last year. T-Types would be your best option if you want one but don't want to spend a butt load. Whatever you do only look at 86's and 87's, I believe those where the only Years that came Intercooled.

well i just saw an '85 gn for 8500 with alot of aftermarket parts.
between 10 and 12 grand would be o.k. im not looking for show worthy stuff, just a good lc2 and a decent drivetrain. it will be a street/strip car...budget build.
by the way, CCM that is a beauty! nice find!

My friends T-type is an 87. He has plans for it. It runs great. He flew to Cali and drove it back to AZ.

That's to bad!
Some pics of my old baby from 2 years ago. Sold her to my good friend who owns a tow-truck buiz. Quick, but a serious car to steer down the 1/4.
If there is anything you want to know. Make sure you do a compresion test on the engine, and check how the valves are sittin, and as well trans is a must. This is for high mile GN. Happy huntin.
