Question Bought a new car (To me that is) Need help please.

So I bought a 1994 Cadillac Eldorado today for $400 It has 94XXX miles on it Needs a little work but the interior is flawless for the age and the paint is in awesome shape (No dents, just a few small scratches) Its black on black

Here is my question, how do I tell if its the base model or Touring coupe. I googled and couldn't come up with solid answers. I understand the Touring coupe had 25 more hp (295hp) and better suspension but I didn't find a door code or anything of that nature to tell the difference. Anyone have any ideas. Sorry no pics yet because I had job interview today and only 6 hours in between shifts (17 hours of work today ) I'll post pics when I pick it up

PS: THis car will be replacing my 1992 Chevy Corsica 3.1L with 198XXX miles on it for my DD.

    GO figure

As soon as I post this, one of my 15 google searches came up with E/L = Eldorado and E/T = Coupe so I'll be checking it out tomorrow after some well needed sleep. Can't wait, massive upgrade in DD's

You googled it? Like, the VIN? That should tell you everything you need to know.

No, I'm at work right now so I have nothing. Just trying to find out differences that may stand out when I went and looked/bought it today. I'm hopefully picking it up tomorrow depending on sleep/work. I found those codes to look for on the door codes so thats the first thing I'll be doing

I'll post tomorrow if I pick it up. It needs a little work on little things but overall its a massive steal. Good wash/coat of wax and some interior cleaning and it will bling. When I say its a massive upgrade in DD's, you would need to see pictures to compare

Only thing I'm not happy is how much more money I'll be spending on parts. Cadillac > Corsica all day in the price department

The touring coupe has a badge on the back of the trunk lid.

Best and only pic I can do at the moment. Had my mechanic buddy take this at the shop. His Dad is the one that sold it to me (Thats how I got it so cheap ) It was his grandmothers. Don't know why the wheels are off, but when I went and looked at it before buying it, they were back on.

Pic doesn't do it justice IRL. It def needs a washing but this pic makes it look like shit. For how old it is, I'd say the paint/body is a solid 6.5/10 if not a 7/10.

I was going to thread ban you for not posting a pic in your first post.

Looks like a damn nice car - getting rid of another one or just adding to the stable?

Nice brown color paint on the rotors.....wait. Never mind.

I would check EVERYTHING out as it is an older car. Looks cool though.

    Really not sure

I would like to sell the Corsica but its been a great car (Paid $300 ) and with all the updates I did (New radiator/brakes/water pump/tires/etc..) I won't get what I think its worth so I should just keep it

I want minimum $500 for it. Nothing but PP for the last 15+ oil changes and tons of work. I'd be losing massive money if I sold it for any less. I'll probably just keep it.

Part prices suck, but otherwise nice ride!

Most of those around here are rust buckets.

If thats the Northstar, be ready to replace the headgaskets very soon. They tend to go around 100-120,000 miles. Either way, its a pretty nice car for $400!

I understand I will lose money Its a Corsica for crying out loud

I just find it pointless to sell really at this point when I won't get what the cars worth (In my eyes)

I checked for rust on the body of this Lac and didn't find any, the rotors are a different story

Parts prices do suck Poor Corsica only costs a few hundred dollars for a crate engine

BINGO we have a winner. 1 head gasket is out. Parts = $200 Labor probably around $200 (Hate me because my buddy works for nothing )
