Yep. We happened to be there when it was feeding time, the game warden park district guy said that even though this cougar is only 6 months old it could still jump out of its cage which was a 9 foot tall privacy fence that surrounded its chain link cage... Said they've been know to jump 15 foot vertically... And it devoured the raw chicken, bones and everything in what seemed like 5 minutes

    Sadly now demodded :(

Note the position of the feathers over the ears of the owl. 1 ear is set higher and further back. This allows the owl to have superior stereoscopic hearing which allows it to pinpoint it's prey in the dark.

growing up down south we had a ton of those things.......I can't even begin to guess at how many I shot with my pellet gun when I was a kid. I was the grim reaper of red wing black birds.

Got em up here, too. It's fun to watch them follow me around when I mow the grass.

    More great shots!

I finally got the camera out today and took a few shots of the critters we have here at home. Not quite as colorful though.

It's challenging - cheap fun though... I didn't have as much luck as I wanted this afternoon ....I had a different lens mounted to the camera today - all my birds in flight images were blurs ...

We have a roadrunner hanging around lately. It's been driving my dogs crazy. This sucker can move fast and jump from the ground to the fence or wall to the roof in an instant. I got a couple of shots of him on the block wall. He actually let me get kind of close with a 55-200.

We have a ton of lizards around here

Yesterday, I decided to shoot some bees. I would really love a new lens also

And Chloe found a toad. I have no idea what he was doing in my front yard. But, I was able to save him from her and put him on the other side of the fence.
