Black Hurricanes..

Ok I wanna get this out before hand. I am in NO WAY racist by any means of the word however this whole thing just pisses me off because the majority of our country does not even think about discriminating against people because of race yet this stupid crap still has to be drug through the freaking dirt!

It was written by someone makign fun of it but the top is true and I just cant believe an educated person would stand in front of people and say this.

Recently Representative Sheila Jackson (D-Texas) stated that current hurricane names are too "lily white" and feels there should be a wider variety of African-American and ethnic names for hurricanes.

"All racial groups should be represented," Lee said, according to the Hill. She hoped federal weather officials "would try to be inclusive of African-American names."

A sampling of popular names that could be used include Keisha, Jamal and Deshawn, according to the paper.

I really shouldn't be surprised. If a white Representative had proposed this ridiculous idea, would the 'African-American' community have the same response? I guarantee the ACLU would be involved and stating that this unfairly stereotypes blacks as violent and destructive.

"We should only name hurricanes for foreign officials who are in hiding or considered to be terrorists, or assisting terrorists. We could name the hurricanes after known illegal immigrants, since they are both unwanted and unwelcome anyway. Or how about we only choose French names, so the fear of hurricanes will be put to rest?"

Agreed. I think that sounds like a fabulous idea.

The reason they started using men's names was because some woman got some sand in her vagina and started bitching about how hurricanes give women a bad name. Before that time they were only named after women.

I read that somewhere but i don't remember where.

LOL.. I just thought of a good response for that lady. I would look her in the eye and get all the seriousness together that I possibly could and say "But Ma'am clouds are white, ever watch the weather station."

This is possibly the dumbest thing I have ever heard. A black people really that upset that hurricanes do not have there names? Really who gives a shit, I really don't care what there named or who there named after. Good to see our tax dollars hard at work decideing wether or not to use black names for hurricanes.

During World War II, US Army Air Corp and Navy meteorologists named Pacific storms after their girlfriends or wives. You'll have to decide for yourself whether the women were happy with having terrible cyclones named after them!

From 1950 to 1952, tropical cyclones, including hurricanes in the North Atlantic Ocean, were identified by the standard radio names: Able; Baker; Charlie;... etc., but in 1953 the US Weather Bureau switched back to women's names, but in a politically correct move, the WMO and the US National Weather Service (NWS) added men's names in 1979.
