    Beware of this guy

    Hey all.

I have been thinking of warning all you guys and gals.

Last year, I found a guy in Arkansas that has a pretty good sized junk yard. I bought a full interior fr my TA in black. Seats, carpet, headliner, all the plastic trim pieces. Paid him 1500 for it all. As I live in AZ, and was out of town for work, I did not have the TA with me.

I got home, and started swapping everything over to black. I found that the driver's seat was broken. The seat back latching mechanism was completely broken. I also found that the passenger seat had a twisted seat pan.

Okay, that can be expected. I call the guy up and tell him what I found. He tells me that all sales are final. Okay, I get that. But, is there any way he can attempt to make it right? I ended up having to remove the covers from my old seats, the new seats, and then swapping them over. He told me that he would send me a seat back for the driver's seat, and a new pan for the passenger seat. I had a few telephone conversations with him, and texted him my address twice. The whole time he assured me that he would get it fixed by sending me the parts. Well, he flaked out on me.

I personally would not do business with him again. If you do get any parts from him, I would suggest that you check over your parts very thoroughly, and if at all possible, install them on the spot to be sure that the parts are going to work for you.

Just a little public service notice for you guys.

Here is his info, which is public knowledge. I am not putting this info here so you can harrass him, only so you all will be alittle cautious dealing with him.

Good to know. Although it has been a while since I have ordered anything, I have had good luck with Trans Am Creations -- they also part out cars.

something is in the water lately...I was reading a pretty epic thread on a trading site about some guy who got screwed over for like $700 worth of wheels...long story short, the members of the site found out who the guy was and made his life a living hell for like 48hours...called his boss, called his wife, sent him like 500 text messages in a night, etc etc etc...it got pretty funny/bad.

Customer service is going down the crapper. Craftsman is even reneging on their once beloved lifetime warranty on certain items.

I break one to two Craftsman tools per year. I have noticed that the quality of the chrome has slipped over the years, but no issues with warranty exchanges so far.

I wish they still had the small Sears Hardware stores. It was much easier to go to one of them than to go to a full size store to exchange tools.
