There was a story about a year ago where i guy bought a truck.. took it home and a week later bill heard stole it from his residence because they said that they madea mistake on the price of the vehicle

It is crap like this that reinforces the car salesman stereotype (all stereotypes are rooted in truth after all).
I have never in my life traded in a car because it gives the dealership an opportunity to screw you.
I have never in my life financed a car through the dealership because it again gives them the opportunity to screw you.
I am all about limiting, as much as possible, the opportunity of others to screw me because in the end I know it will not end well for anyone involved.

They are in business to make as much money as they can, that is not exactly a conspiracy.
I've never know a dealership to give you as much on a trade in as you could by selling it to a private party.
I've never know a dealership (and/or their financing networks) to give you as good an interest rate on a loan as your own bank or credit union would.
But hey, if you want to give them more money than is necessary - more power to you.

Black- 97 Formula
There was a movie a while back [70s or 80s] where a guy took a BigFoot monstertruck [the actual Bigfoot] and ran it across several rows of new cars at a dealership. Someone should do that to Bill Heard. Because the new cars on a lot are no longer owned by GM, they are owned by the dealer. That's why they take them to auction when they don't sell so they can get some of their money back.

Wouldn't the business suffer from those messages? I mean wouldn't they get a reputation for it? I don't see how that could go on for so long. I mean I know that there are some people that won't hear about it.. but for them to be doing a decent amount of business seems odd to me.

Sebring Silver- 2000 Camaro SS (R.I.P.)
I bought a used Yukon from Bill Heard in Plant City, FL about 5 years ago. I had it for a week and finally got a phone call saying that the interest rate would be higher than they thought it would be and I had to come in and sign more papers. I said that it wasn't my problem the finance manager screwed up. I ended up going to Bill Heard and speaking with the manager. In the end, I tossed the keys to the Yukon at him and walked back behind the service department to find my old car. When I found it I said I wanted the keys to my old car and the deal was over. They didn't argue. Needless to say, I was pissed.
