    Battery question

I finally just put a new battery in the Camaro and it won't start. After a few minutes, I was able to get the interior lights, locks and alarm to sound, but it won't start. Should I let it sit for awhile before trying?

If you don't think it's the VATS i'd throw a trickle charge on that new battery or just jump it and let her run. I've never had it happen but sometimes new batteries can have a low charge. Also check for corrosion on batt cables and check all grounds.

Are the terminals tight and not cross-threaded?

I tried jumping it with my other car and it wouldn't start. I think my neighbor has a tester so I'll probably see if he can test it.

I can check again and make sure, but I got them on there pretty tight.

i'm not saying it can't happen....I've just never seen a new battery that was bad. I would tend to lean more towards corroded cables, loose connection, or a bad ground. Put a volt meter across the battery and see what it says.

Did you blow a fuse when you changed the cables over? Or is it possible you shorted the PCM?

I'll let you guys know what I find once I get the new battery tested. Obviously I'm hoping it's just a bad battery because diagnosing an electrical issue is something that'll be way over my head.

The other battery should have enough cranking amps. Swap it out. If it starts, put the bad battery back in, leave the charging car hooked up to the dead battery for 15 minutes. It'll charge the battery or at least make it click.

I've had a completely dead battery before and if you leave it hooked up long enough it'll charge it.

    Update

I finally got the Camaro running and it's doing great. It turns out the new battery I got was fine. I took a wire brush to the positive terminal then reconnected everything and it started right up.
