    Barrett-Jackson Auctions First LSX454R for $67,000

When we first revealed GMPP’s new LSX454R, it was, as you could imagine, huge news. Priced at around $11,625 retail, the monstrous 13.1:1 compression LS plant features 6-bolt all-aluminum LSX heads atop a 6-bolt main aluminum block, and erupts with an impressive 720 horsepower and 720 pound-feet of torque.

honestly $11-12000 isnt that bad for the power, too bad it wont run on pump gas

I wonder if it would hold 10 lbs. of boost with some good fuel

You would def have to lower the compression, at 13 to 1 your looking at having a 12G bomb lol.

I understand this for a good cause and all, but this is also the reason people why ask the outragous amounts for f-bodies when they post them up for sale.

Shit is a joke. I was looking at a '93 Hardtop, 6spd TA w/166,000 on it (fair condition at best) and the guy is asking $11,000!!! it's a $1500-$2000 car at most on a good day. Yet he's hell bent he will get that $11,000 and won't take anything less.

Some people are simply money hungry assholes, who need to get bucked off their high-horse.

In reality, when your getting to serious power like 750 and above, I'm starting to think it's really better to just go with a BBC. The technology has been there for years, the heads are there, a buddy of mine I went to high school with just got through building a 1000 hp BBC all motor. He said he spent about 18k on the motor building it.
