Bad Dream...damn it
OK so we used to have a drag strip in my home town.
it wasnt the best in the world, but it got the job done, When I was younger we used to go out there and NHRA run, it was nice enough to handle that.
But anyway, The owner only owned the strip, once you got past the quarter mile mark, it was leased property. Well the leaser wanted out, effectively shutting down the track. I drove by it today, and all the buildings and bleachers had been moved and the track was torn up, Its being made into a residential area i think. The bastards are even using the strip as the main street
But anyway, my dream involved them moving everything across the street, and everything was WAY nicer, I showed up, watched some runs, and ended up being late for work.
I woke up and was sad

that sucks...but it would be cool to live on a street that once was drag strip.

It would be nice to do some quarter mile runs on the street in memory

It would have been better to buy all the property and have your own personal drag strip.

Chris Karamesines ran the first 200mph quarter on a strip in Illinois (Alton I think) that is now the main road in a trailer park

You'd think they would've just chopped it in half and made an 1/8 mile track.
Nowadays, I'm surprised anybody would try to turn it into a subdivision that will never sell out.

Oh no it will, perfect location, just outside of town on the main road the schools are on. Out city is building a completely new school system, k-12. our student population has doubled in the last 10 years, and set to double again in the next 5. We have a huge school district that people are flooding too.
I had a dream last night that i had my camaro back.....fuck my dreams
