    Baby run over by train...

This happened in Melbourne last Thursday. Mum let go of the pram for a second to pull up her pants when it rolled onto the tracks into the path of the train. Pram and baby dragged about 130 feet under the train.

Baby escaped with a bump on its head. Oprah apparently want the mother on her show...

I saw the footage on the news and I almost swallowed my own tongue! We have a 10 month old bub with the same type of pram. I cant imagine the terror this Mum went through in this vid...

Thank god everything turned out ok...

    Raw CCTV footage...

I always find the change in verbal communication funny between countries. Never heard of your word before.

Pram is fine by me. I didn't just fall off the back of a lorry.
But then again, I drive a Monaro.

begs the question of why the hell didn't she hold it with her foot or i dunno...not point the damn thing at the tracks as the train was coming in.

using special training that I received at the Columbo School of Private Detecting I will tell you a few things about that video.
Mom needs to buy pants that actually fit her and not just make her ass look good. She also needs shoes that have a functioning sole on them and not some that just match her handbag. A baby stroller will accelerate at 9.8 m/sec² off of a train platform. Aussie's hate babies in strollers and people in wheel chairs or they would have a little lip on the platform to keep this from happening.

Ohh... Columbo, that's hard to get into there...

I have studied your theory and have some points to add. If Mum bought a belt, she could keep the pants that make her arse look good. Nothing wrong with a good looking arse on a lady. She does need better shoes, she clearly had traction issues. If Mum had of hooked up better on the launch she may have saved bubs before it went over the edge.
Correct, a pram will accelerate at 9.8m/sec², but only once completely clear of the platform and not allowing for wind resistance.
That is an older platform that is sloped slightly towards the tracks so water doesn't pool when it rains. The platform edge is flat so to allow a smooth transition between it and the train when it stops, thus being pram and wheelchair friendly... Besides, wheelchairs have built in helecopter rotors. Did you see Stephen Hawkins on that documentary 'The Simpsons' ??
