I'd say it's either the standard comic book 'good guy misunderstanding' fight, or a serious training/sparring match for them to learn that the other guys are capable of...

Best movie i've ever seen...i'm going to watch it again on opening day. The budget for this movie must've been insane.

Seen it? I won't ask how

I am glad to hear you say it was damn good, and that it's breaking records overseas! I hope it's bigger than Iron Man and the Dark Knight combined. I want this to be a huge hit so I'll know there will be sequels. DC could've had this years ago, they have talked and talked about The Justice League but they keep dicking around, rebooting/remaking things, refusing to make some things (Wonder Woman)... I hope this is huge and they realize what a mistake they've made. They may be winning the comic book wars, but Marvel is kicking their asses in the comic book movie wars...

The previous movies and using the same casting (except for banner) is really going to let the average person identify with the characters right off the bat. If Avengers came out before or without the other movies it would still do really good but no where near what it is about to do. Especially with Captain America, I didn't know jack about his backstory before the movie came out last year...doubt i'm alone on that.

Yep yep, I totally agree. The individual story/movies before this one are what will make this one so good. The biggest real world problem was getting so many stars, with so many high salaries and egos, into one movie. I am so glad they found a way to work it out...

Yeah, the guy in green is Loki from the Thor movie...

If you don't know already, in the comics Loki was the threat that brought the Avengers together for the first time... He brainwashed the Hulk and sent him on a rampage and the other heroes banded together first to stop the Hulk, then when they realized what happened, the Hulk joined them against Loki...

I didn't realize this movie was directed and co-written by Joss Whedon.

As a big fan of Firefly/Serenity, now I am double stoked to see it.

If you haven't seen the movie Serenity, be sure to check it out.

Firefly and Serenity rocked, as did Buffy and Angel, I'm a fan of all of them... I just saw an article about him being involved a few days ago, hadn't known it either...

That's what I read too. I was trying to find out why Edward Norton wasn't Banner and from what I found there was two sides to the story. Norton says it was about money but Marvel said they wanted someone "who embodies the creativity and collaborative spirit of our other talented cast members." From what i've read Norton is a drama queen and tries to direct/take control of the movies he's in. Raffalo did a good job in Avengers but he just doesn't come off as smart as he's supposed to be...if you know what I mean. If you've seen him in other movies it's pretty much the same.

Yeah that's too bad about Norton, he was the better Banner of the last 2 Hulk movies, sounds like he's the best of 3 movies now... I read that Downey Jr pushed to have Stark/Iron Man be the central character as well. But that does at least make some sense, as in the comics Stark is the financial backer of the Avengers and supplied most of the buildings and equipment they used. But I imagine in the case of the movie it was probably just ego like with Norton...
