Autocross
So, I witnessed to my first in person autocross today. Pretty cool, but just seems odd to me when camaros(all years), mustangs, impalas, and challengers at these events. I know a guy who drives an STI so I really went to watch him and his boy run. Now, those cars are pretty sick for what they can do. Only would own one if I had crazy amounts of money. Then I would just enjoy all aspects of racing.
With that said, should cars like ours be doing that or drag style racing? Just a question to see the opinions of anyone who reads this. Some of the camaro guys had all types of work done to their cars, but that meant nothing at this type of event.
Just some food for thought i guess. Let me know what yall think.Suspension: Lower control arms (Spohn), Drive shaft safety loop, Torque arm (Edlebrock), Strut tower brace, Panhard Bar (BMR)
Under the Hood: Smooth bellows, Lid, Catch can, LT Headers, ORY, AIR/EGR delete, Poly engine/transmission mounts,
Exterior: Painted brake calipers (Red), Halo “Spyder” Headlights w/matching parking/turn signals (Black)

It can be done, but a solid rear is not the best for turns.

One of em was set up strictly for that type of racing. Would never know until you got underneath and checked it out

I think autocross is pretty badass to watch and I would autocross my T/A except I'm not down with what the cones do to your paint. Then again the closest drag strip to me is 5+ hours away so thats not much of an option for me. If you want to be super serious about it though finding an old vette would be a better option than an f-body or mustang.

I did see a Z06 there that was rippin through the track. It definetely looks like a whole lot of fun. I just see my car breaking a whole lot easier on a track like that than a straight one. Am i wrong thinking that? Also, that track had a whole lot of lil rocks

I'm trying to buy my buddy's '98 C5, so I can build the suspension and make it an all out AutoX car. The T/A will never be able to hand that kind of abuse...
