    Anyone using a Roku box?

My parents have had Netflix for a while and for xmas i want to get them a way to watch streaming video. They don't need a gaming system or anything complicated. I was thinking something like this would be a good thing for them. Any advise?

i have it and its very easy to use. The only downfall is that the newer movies are not available for it very often due to some sort of copyright issues. However, there are a ton of non new releases available.

I actually went to Best Buy and you can get a BluRay player for like $120 that does NetFlix... prolly go that way...

Just get a decent Blu-Ray player that does Netflix. Many of them do now.

I'm actually kinda disappointed with the Roku. Mainly because of what has already been mentioned. All the movies from Netflix are old movies. Plus, the quality of Bluray is so much better. The convenience of being able to stream the movie is cool though. But most of the time, don't get to play the movie that I want.

the g/f and i bought here parents a roku box last year for christmas. they use it every day. when they aren't streaming tv programs like "american chopper" and "deadliest catch" off of netflix they are watching movies off netflix. and if they want a newer release movie they switch over to amazon and buy a movie for about $3.

    they love it.
