Ok please, do not turn this into a political thread.

I need help at work to deal with some non-English speaking patients. I am tired of waiting for a translator or having a family member who also barely knows English

Please translate the following:

How are you?

Where is your pain?

You are getting a CAT scan

You are getting an Ultra Sound

You are getting an X ray

Please slide over.

When I move you, lift up your head.

Take a deep breath and hold it.

Don’t move.

Stay still.

Do you want to sit up?

Do you want to lie down?

We are done with the test.

Fell better.

Do you want to sit up? - SE KIERE SENTAR DERECHO? or you could easilly say... SE KIERE LEVANTAR?(do you wanna get up)

Do you want to lie down? - SE QUIERE RECOSTAR?, same thing with the QU and K

We are done with the test. - YA TERMINAMOS CON LA EXAMINACION

Fell better. - SE SIENTE MEJOR?, if it's a question... and if it's a good bye type thing...then say... SIENTASE MEJOR or... QUE SE MEJORE!, remember QU=K sound

works like a charm most of the time...

It usually translates too literally... you write a sentence how you'd write it in English...and it turns out it's backwards in spanish...so you have all the right words...but then you don't have the right order and you end up looking like a re-tard... that's why I don't like using it... (used to try to speak to some friends from Holand using it)

Yup...my parents talk spanish, although they know perfect english...but I guess they like talking their native language better....

yeah... I like to speak spanish when I visit the states... just so that white people don't understand me... :d

my dad was born in the states...but he still has a bit of an accent when he speaks english...I have no Idea why... LOL

Well...when me and my family talk spanish, no one understands us...i guess we speak "cuban"

I have cuban friends... and had cuban teachers... the only hard part of undestanding them...is when they used words that we use...in difrent context...cause over there they mean something else...

Like Papaya=Pussy in Cuba... here Papaya is just a fruit...
