Anyone else seen this? Cobra hood ornaments

The other day i was walking by the ford dealership and i saw a grand prix parked out back that had two cobra hood ornaments on it's hood. I'm not talking emblems here, i'm talking about 3 dimensional old school hood ornaments that stand up. One of the left side and one on the right side. Looked goofy as hell.

I just passed it off as some guy being stupid

But while visiting A DIFFERENT CITY an hour away i saw a newer dodge ram driven by a Mexican that had the same setup on his hood.

Is this a new fad or gang thing or something? I should have taken a picture of that grand prix but at the time i just passed it off as typical ricer stupidity.

Unfortantly you can buy them at any auto parts store, and I have seen them on quite a few cars and trucks also.
