Anyone an Electritian here? Some of the outlets in my house stopped working.....

I checked the fuse box at the fuse panel and they are all ON. I toggled the breakers anyway and some of the outlets still dont work. Others in the house work fine. Soooo, Im thinking could it be the breaker that supplies the bad outlets? Does a breaker go bad and wont pass electricity even though its in the On position? What else can i try thanks.

Check for tripped GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupt) outlets. They have the little Test & Reset buttons on them. They would be in areas close to water sources, or outside, IE bathrooms, kitchen, patio, sometimes in the Garage, etc. . . .

I'd think it would be the first outlet in the circut or else you might have something that got chew happy. You can pull the outlets out and make sure they are connected tight and no wires came off.

it would be a good idea to find the outlet where the homerun is and see if that has power. do you have an outlet tester? It could also be a loose neutral wires can work themselves loose over time.

it may not be an entire circuit though the problem may be in the middle of the circuit so depending on what type of outlets are not working like bath, kitchen maybe garage, there would be a limited amount of outlets on the circuit. so if there are 2 outlets not working in a living room or bedroom for example it is probably not a breaker issue but a circuit issue

you need a multi-meter to test the wires on the back side of the outlets. If the outlet doesn't work an outlet tester can't help now, but it would be good to check them once they are working again.

an outlet tester might show if there were an open neutral or hot
