    Anybody love Alice In Chains?

I jus started listening to them a lot agian after not listening for awhile but always being a big fan. Jus listening to them, god Layne Staley had a hell of a voice. Talk about some really deep songs. They make you think. It makes me so sad that Layne couldn't beat heroine. What a waste of a brilliant person.

ROck on brother. Layne made enough brilliant music when he was alive that smokes anything that comes out now. Its jus fucking sad watching a video on youtube when he was really sick and basically jus dying. He died at something disgusting like 85 lbs. Breaks my fuckin heart dude. If he was still alive who knows what brilliant shit they would have made

Exactly. I'm not sure he lived to see that. I listen to songs like nutshell and I stay away and I'm completely floored.

Alice and chains was awesome. I truly regret never getting to see them play live. Layne Staley was awesome and his death was a true waste.

yes I was super pissed at Layne when he died!!

I'm just glad I got to see them at Red Rocks in '93, and then again with Ozzy and Sepultura in.....shit '95 I think when ever the "no more tours" tour was. He had a broken leg and did the whole show from a recliner on stage. loved that dudes voice....dammit

they did Baracuda with the country singer Gretchen Wilson (no relation), and she did a fucking absolutly amazing job on it, I never heard of her and dont listen to country but she nailed it, sounded better then the original! I was very impressed. and Nancy Wilson came out and played with them on the song.

I don't know for a fact, but I would think they do, and if they do. Invest in it. In fact I'm gonna look into it and possibly buy it myself. It really is amazing music. Bands like AIC only come around once in awhile.

they have a greatest hits album that has most of there best songs, but my fav has got to be the MTV unplugged album. acoustic music is my favorite. take away all of the effects and pro tools and see if the band has balls or not. on the subject of layne dying, what really pissed me off is you only heard like a 30 second clip about it on mtv and vh1. and when left eye from TLC died (which i think there deaths were only a couple weeks apart) they are still running specials about her. im not saying that she didn't deserve her recognition because anyone who dies that young, it is a sad situation. but IMHO there is no comparison in TLC and AIC when it comes to the impact they had on music.

Who the hell is Left Eye? Who is TLC? Just kidding about that, but I do agree that the coverage that they give the hip hop "artists" compared to those who actually had an impact is crazy.

Jar of Flies is the only album I ever actually had from them. Great album. Great music.

There is a CD called the Essential AIC. It has about 30 songs on it that are all great, but I think some of the not as popular stuff is some of their best so I recommend at least getting Facelift and Dirt. I was big into the grunge thing back then but of all of it AIC was by far my favorite. Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Nirvan were great as well but AIC is grunge for me.
