i'm pretty new to playing guitar and someone else had a thread about playing and i was just looking for some new stuff to play, keep in mind the key word is easy, i know my chords but nothing too crazy here! don't really care what style as long as its fun. i'll look 'em up on ultimate guitar as long as you let me know some songs

if you notice, you can just run the same chord up the fret board. until the chorus.

I love the way everlong sounds with an acoustic. Yeah, razors pretty hard to get the hang of... just takes practice... to get used to going fast I just did the open notes thing over and over again until I got the speed, and then from there it was hard to add the frets into it

Ballards are a good way to start as they are repetitive which is good for training your fingers, good for establishing a regular rythm, generally easy to sing and strum, and can often be used for fingerpicking as well as struming.

As such, something like the old Paul Simon song... The Boxer, meets all of these requirements, plus "everybody" is familiar with it, and it is not generally regarded as a pussy song like many other ballards.
