anybody that can help me regarding SLR Camera buy

We currently have a Canon A410, small point and shoot camera that i can throw in my pocket and it takes great pics as long as you have plenty of light available. Here are the specs on it:

We've talked about upgrading to something with at least more zoom since my son has started playing baseball and its hard to get decent pics with the Canon. Also sucks big time in any sort of auditorium or closed in building with little light.

I ran across this camera about 50 miles away that seems like a great deal. Its a FUJI Finepix S5100 Digital SLR ($450 new) with case and memory card, very little use. He is asking $125 for it and the reviews are awesome. My question is this, do you think it will be a very noticable upgrade as far as picture quality , low lighting, zoom etc? Dont care anything about video capabilities btw

    Thanks for any suggestions

That's not actually an SLR. But, I would imagine that you would have more control over it than the camera you currently have. Not sure if it's a good price or not. Check on ebay and see what people are selling them for used.

It's probably a better camera for you. Still a point and shoot, so, it's easy to use. I'd say $100 would be a fair deal.

Def not a SLR. Also 4 mega pixel is really low by today standards. Low end SLR cameras were 8 megapixel when I stopped selling them several years ago. And unless Fuji has really improved since I sold cameras I would pass.

Canon and NIKON make some good point and shoot ones around that price. You might be able to find a older Canon rebel or NIKON d series around there too and they are slr. They started around six brand new for the base models when new so hunt around and you may find something.
