Any1 know anything about the Mach 1

Im considering an 03/04 Mach1 in the near future. Im most likley gonna run FI in the car probably a procharger of some sort. Does any1 know what these things run with full bolt ons and a procharger? I know this is the wrong forum, so i might create an account on SVTPerformance.

i raced a full bolt on mach1... the exhaust sounds fantastic but it wasn't as fast as my TA by a long shot...

Over 1000 dollas for a set of cams. But if you're going boosted that's not a concern

if you procharge a mach 1, you have to stay at fairly low boost. If you get the boost bug, plan on building the bottom end up.

this is weird you asked though, i was talking to guy that had an 03 mach lastnight, he was telling me all about it, the jist i got was all machs have the 32 valve motor like the termys but no chargers, instead they get a shaker scoop, if you get a mach with a blower, make that blower stick through the hole in the hood, that would look sickk

Terminator: Forged internals, Eaton Supercharger 390 BHP

03/04 Mach 1: 32V, No forged internals. Forged Crank (Manual trans) and cast crank (Auto-trans) 305 BHP, solid axle

    99, 01 Cobra: 32V, 320 BHP, live axle

Cobra will be easier if you go FI because you won't have to deal with the shaker ducting/assy.

I almost bought a Mach 1 instead of my ls1...
Like others have said, they share the same engine as the cobra, but without being forged and it's higher compression. If you plan to push anything other than 450, you better plan on building up the bottom end. Don't plan on staying NA either, but the aftermarket support for any type of boost on any mustang is incredible. Also, they sound AMAZING. Shaker hood > all.

Stock for stock, I think they keep up with the LS1, not positive though.

    stuff about the mach 1

    1. with a good driver and the 5spd stock for stock a mach 1 CAN keep up with a STOCK ls1. bolt on cars and the ls1 wins most of the time. but they are pretty evenly matched in general.
    2. Mach 1 engine is NOT the exact same as the terminator engine. Mach 1 is an aluminum block and the terminator is an iron block. Both have the same heads and cams though.
    3. The terminator motor has kickass manley forged rods, different pistons, and forged crank. Mach 1 just has a forged crank.
    4. both come with 3.55 gears
You can build a monster mach 1 but in the end it'll cost more money then the terminator when it comes to mods. Initial cost of the terminators are still pretty high though.

yea, terminator prices are ridiculously high

LS1 and mach 1 can usually be found for around the same price range which is a bit sad when the mach 1 is at minimum 2 years newer. (in the tri-state NY area)
