another ford bites the big one
friend of mine just baught a 97 ford 350 4x4, big ass truck. not a bad looking truck to be honest. it has the 5.8 w motor with a 5 speed, it'll get or it used to.
he came down i285 the other day called me and said his truck lost power and his exhaust manifolds are glowing red. i told him the distributor was lose and turned on him. (another frined with a ford 5.0 4x4 did the same thing) get there to look at it and sure enough, lose as hell.
get her back home runs fine. next day put a timing light on her. runs great. after sitting a while try to crank her up and nothing... starter wont even turn the motor... i think " ummm it ran super hot yesterday.." check the coolent and sure enough its low
she blew her gaskets...

a lt1 of mine did the same thing... glowing red headers, no power = clogged cat....
easy fix but still had a blown head gasket
