Too many other factors involved, too little info to answer your question.

I don't care how good oil is, I'd never trust it for a full year.

What criteria are you basing "due for an oil change" on? Time, milaege etc.

I use AmsOil 20W50 severe duty in my LT1 road race car for the last 3 years.

I see 300*+ temps routinely ... basically every 30 minute session ... at least 4 sesions/weekend and at least 6 weekends a year.

I change it once a year during the off season and the filter mid season.

According to Blackstone, it's holding up just fine.

I also run AmsOil in my diesel tow rig. I put about 10K a year on it ... all towing 10Klbs of enclosed race trailer.

I change the oil once a year as well. I do change the filter once, mid-season.

I have used AmsOil in the past and have not really seen a difference over any other high quality synthetic. I use Mobil 1 in my Maro and change it every 3k, which is once a year for me since this is a weekend car and is on the road from April to October. I also run Mobil 1 in my 1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport which does all of the dirty work around my house. I tow with it, take it off road and even plow with it, this is a vehicle which see's different duties and I have 250k on it with no major work done. I have five vehicles in all and have Mobil 1 in all but one, the Lexus uses Royal Purple because the first owner ran it on RP since it was new. BTW the Lexus now has 180k on it with no repairs ever. What I am trying to say is just do your maintenence on all of your fluids. Anti Freeze, Brake fluid, trans fluid - both auto and manual, engine oil and PS fluid. change the brake, anti freeze and PS once a year. You won't go broke and it may save you alot of money in the long run.

Changing your brake fluid, coolant, and power steering fluid every year is a bit overkill imo.

changing those fluids annually is overkill yes...failing to change your engine oil every couple months...big mistake.

The way I see it is that no matter what I am going to have the same junk swimming around in my oil after 3k with Mobile 1, Pennzoil, or Amsoil. Why would I want that shit as well as 7k more miles worth of shit floating around in my engine? Yes, the filter will get some of it but not all of it.

I would rather change it and get as much of the gunk out as possible. Not sure about the detergents and what not in Amsoil. I would that if you run Amsoil with a clean/new engine that it would be better than a gunked up engine running on Amsoil for 10k miles.

Overkill on the P/S, Anti-Freeze and Brake Fluid ? I think not. Take the cost, Antifreeze 25 dollars, P/S Fluid 10 dollars and Brake Fluid 10 dollars. 45 Dollars per year. P/S and Brake fluids get contaminated with water and other materials. If you have ABS then you will want to protect the module from corrosion same with the p/S fluid which will help save the pump and rack. The Anti Freeze used in LS1's may be good for 5 years but corrosion will damage head gaskets, clog water jackets and radiators and corrode T-stats. 45 dollars comes out to 12 cents a day. That is a lot less then a major repair.

It is overkill. Dexcool is fine for 3.5 5 years depending on driving conditions. Brake fluid more often than 2 years/30k is overdoing it. P/s 30-45k is as often as I would go as well as Trans fluid. Save your 45 bucks a year. Plus on average it takes 2 gallons of dex cool to properly change it out which is well over 25 as is all your fluid amounts to do a proper fluid change on any fluids...
Plus GM racks don't need the help of fluid brake down to either leak or take a dump. They do a well enough job on their own

I hear that if you run AMSOIL transmission fluid it makes a 4L60-E invincible.
