Alice in Chains MTV unplugged
So I've obviously heard of Alice in Chains before and remember man in a box when I was younger, but that was about it. I stumbled across their unplugged mtv performance a couple of months ago and really got into the band. Have you seen it?
When I do this I listen to as much as I can and do a lot of research on the band's history. I found it really interesting, especially how Layne Staley (former lead singer) died and the MTV performance was his last. He looked so sick and unhealthy, but his voice was still incredible. He even forgot the lyrics in Sludge Factory, but the crowd still cheered for him anyways. You could also tell he needed to shoot up again towards the end of the performance because he was struggling. He covered himself completely to hide the scars, even wore gloves.
It's a legendary performance up there with Nirvana's unplugged. So sad...check it out.

when layne died he barely weighed 100lbs. i think he actually died around 5-6 years after unplugged though and i dont think this was the bands last performance together. i was a pretty big fan back in the day
