I grew up a service brat and I've lived in lots of places here and around the world. Alaska is one of the places I want to go back to again some day before I die. I love being in the mountains. I've got a few grams of gold my Dad panned for back in '65. I placed about a gram of it in a tiny vial and made a necklace out of it for my wife. It's a real conversation piece when we're with other.

I think Alaska has about 2 months of warm weather, and even in the summertime it dips into the 40s at night. This all depends on how close to the Arctic Circle you are though. If you are close enough, you will experience 6 months of day and 6 months of night.

Agreed, I love living at the Rocky Mountains. Dirt bikes, snomobiles, hot springs, corner carving, camping, it is all good!
