Advice on a Daily Driver possibility

I'm looking at a '92 4x4 Nissan Pathfinder with 120K+ miles for use as a DD.

The JD Powers and Consumer Reports stats are pretty good AFA reliability is concerned but I thought perhaps someone here maybe has a history with them and could fill me in on what problems to look for.

The price is right. Gas mileage isn't great but it'll run on regular so the end cost of fuel should be about the same as the SS.

Advice, anyone?

I've had good luck with my nissan(04 Spec V). One of the other managers at my work had a late 90's pathfinder and loved it.

When you drive it pay attention to the tranny shifting. If it seems off or holding on too long it may need a throttle sensor. Other than that I'd check for the basics.

It's 15 years old, all bets are off as far as reliability.

FWIW, my buddy had the timing belt go in his honda about 1 yr old @15K.

i picked up my 96 montecarlo with 70k miles and in mint shape for 1500 bucks .........6 mths and no probs yet ( fingers crossed) cd player power everything cruise...and its easy to work on IF i have probs

I want something 4x4. I've seen Pathfinders with 250k+ on the original long block.
