Advanced auto parts..:(
Over the years I've patronted them for many of my automotive needs..
This year I may change to someone else as it seems they've become useless on having things in stock..
Just a couple of years ago I could go to my local branch and get just about anything I've needed and they had it in stock.
Now you call them and they have nothing in stock, call the next closest store and same deal..
I'm doing front and rear brake pads on the H3 this weekend all they had was el-cheapo fronts instock.
Last year just about anything I needed for the Camaro had to be ordered with about 3-4 to 7 day wait.
Then if the part is wrong guess what??
Ya wait some more for them to get it right!! WTF?
But hell they will teach me to change my own motor oil for $16.95..
You've got to be kidding me...
Rant off..

Light Pewter- 2002 Camaro SS
Well that is what this society and its push for continuing education has done.
Just In Time.
Only stock what moves fairly frequently.
No risk or very minimal!

...you might not like it, ..but it's probably based on consumerism, i.e. what people have been buying - it costs money to stock things, and not good if you stock things that "most" won't buy... IDK, just trying to play debils advocate here

Which is odd since I thought the H3 had the Trailblazer brakes. Then again Trailblazer takes forever to kill brakes

Same problem with the ex's 09 Traverse. Nobody stocked shit for brakes for them.

I have a similar story. PaJeff advised me to return the SuperTech oil filter as it was an Ecore. I went to the Autozone I usually go to and, well, they no longer sell Delco oil filters. Just STP, Fram and Mobil-1...which I believe are now all Ecore. I had to go to Kmart to get myself a Purolator oil filter and then I returned the SuperTech filter to Wal-Mart. We may all have to start relying on the smaller parts stores rather than the ones we see advertised on TV.

I thought the H3 was built on the Colorados frame? I can't believe they wouldn't have basic Bendix ceramic pads.

I had the same type of experience today at Pep Boys. I wanted a certain oil in 5/30 and they had none. Always had in in stock previously. I then went looking for some detail products and the shelves were almost bare. I asked the store manager what was up with the bare shelves and low inventory. He claims they only get one delivery a week from their central parts depot and will only send enough oil to fill in the self service shelves which I'm guessing hold about 12 quarts. They won't ship more because they call it over stocking. So after two people buy six quarts each of the same oil there is none left until the next Mondays shipment. He said they will not send more and no extra shipments during the week even if they are out of products.
I reminded him that there is a new R & S Strauss store being built across the highway and if they continue to operate like this they will lose a ton of business. He agrees and says there is nothing he can do. Doesn't sound right to me. His attitude was like he didn't even care. Gotta find another source.Magnaflow Quad Tip, Lid, SBellow

I generally go into the parts store expecting to be disappointed anymore. However, I will say that any parts that I have ordered usually appear the next morning -- even up hear in the sticks.

Same with O Reillys. Last summer they can't nothing on hand for ls1 cars, but now several of the boys that work there have ls1 cars, they seem to stock an endless supply of whatever it was I needed.
OKC had a 24 hour autozone down the street from their warehouse. Now that comes in handy.

I got a buddy with a commercial account, so I get like an additional 20% off. We have such a good relationship with our local advanced that even after the 20% discount just ask them if they can do any better, and we will get it even cheaper.
