Texas doesn't schedule an execution until appeals have run.
Q. How is it determined what date a death row offender will be scheduled for execution?
A. The judge presiding over a capital punishment case sets the date of execution for a death row offender when it appears that appeals in the case have been exhausted. When TDCJ receives a warrant of execution from the court, we add the offender's name to the list of scheduled executions, scheduling the execution on the date ordered by the court.

I agree to an extent, but what about the people that slip through that didnt commit the crimes? That sure sucks for them. I guess theres jus nothing you can do about falsely accused people regardless. But a proven murderer? Fuck man, kill the bastard the second he gets out of the court room. When I say proven, I mean dead on balls for sure the person killed someone.
Hopefully you get some kind of retribution or feel at least a lil better about the guy that took your friends life riding the lightning Sarge. Thank god i've never been faced with something like losing a loved one under that kind of circumstance.

what is sad is that it is cheaper to keep them in jail for life then to give them the death pentaly.

fuck that my power bill would go up....
someone sentenced to death or life in prison without parole should be immediately taken out back of the judges chambers and popped in the head with a .45. Buried face down without a box, make other prisoners bury them so they think twice about the shit they do

Regardless of the cost I think we as a society must make damn sure all the defendants legal rights have been exhausted.....it is what separates us from murderers themselves. But after that has been done....give em the needle like a dog.

You know, I'm not a constitutional law professor or anything, but I personally believe that the states are mis-understanding the constitution when they interpret the "cruel and unusual" line in the constitution. Now, the word "AND" is a conjunction. So for a death sentence to be unconstitutional, it would have to be cruel AND unusual. So here's how I see it. Drawing and quartering someone, crual AND unusual. Putting a 50 cent cap in between that some beeches eyes, cruel, but NOT UNUSUAL!! Since we can't seem to save the money from the appeals, maybe we can save money from all the elaborate ways of killing criminals!!
JMHO, though.
