Wink 80gig or 160gig Ipod for Christmas? A couple questions.

Im going to hook an ipod up to my car cd player and i have tons of mp3 albums that i want on it and i constantly add more as i download more. While i would like the 160gig just becuase thats huge, its also $100 more than the 80gig, my question is, would i ever get remotely close to filling up 80gigs of music? I mean my PC is only 60gig harddrive and i dont think i could fill that up, but maybe. Is the 160gig mainly for video storage?

Also, can you put any mp3 file on the Ipod? not just from I-tunes, i dont use i-tunes.

lets put it this way, you'll NEVER fill the 80 gig version, especially if you'er using it for music only

the 160 would be for video finatics and even that would be tough to fill up

I'd go with the 80 gig version

sorry, and yes any mp3 can be put on there, it is easier to used iTunes to do it, via syncing it up, but i'm sure there are otherways to put files on the ipod

The thing with iPods is that as soon as you get one, a better one comes out for $100 bucks less than what you paid for your now obsolete one. Then you get pissed off but let it build up until you walk into your office with a sling shot (the AK was too expensive after buying the iPod) and start giving people bruises with small rocks until the rent-a-cop wrestles it away from you and tells you to go home.

What bothers me the most is that ever since the iPod came out, these marketing companies think it's super k-rad awesomeness to add a lowercase "i" infront of all of their products to make it uber trendy cool.

Seriously though, get the 160gb one. That way you can use it as an external hard drive and hide all your porn from your wife.

you and me both! I'd get the 160 anyways though, that way i could put on every album and every song ever from every artist i like and still have like a whole extra 40 gigs for music!

Exactly. I dont understand the basis for having so much memory. If it could be used for video, I dont see why. Id rather watch shit on a larger screen, like say, Oh I dont know...a TV?

I've currently got 873 songs on my 30gig Ipod video, all of them at 320 kbps and I'm only using 8.68 gigs.

I doubt that you will fill an 80 gig ipod. I have a 30 gig with movies and music. I still have about 20 gigs free. Save some money and get the 80 gig.

^That made little sense. You have space to spare...so why get an 80 giger?

Are you guys watching movies on that little screen or are you playing it somewhere else?

It's for the imaginary pissing war between manufacturers to one-up the other guy.

"What the hell do I need a toothbrush attatchment on my iPod for?"
"Doesn't matter, the other guys don't have it, ours is betterers!!!"

if you're watchin videos i'd look at the new 80gig zune, thing has a huge ass screen and costs the same as the 80 gig ipod. otherwise the 80gig ipod will be plenty

Unless I had to ride public transportation for several hours everyday I would never use a portable player for video storage. Even then, you'd probably be better off reading the Wall Street Journal than you would be watching last night's episode of My Name is Earl and Survivorman.
