75K for the new Z
$75,000 gets you Chevy's fastest Camaro Z/28, but no air conditioning? - latimes.com
Dayum - that is a little bit more than I expected..........maybe I'll wait about 3 to 5 years and then buy one.

GM is trying to kill the Camaro market again. Why pay that much for a Z28 when you can get a Vette for cheaper?

They're going to sell every single one of them. You do understand how much more it costs to produce this car than it does to produce a ZL1, right? The brakes alone are several thousand dollars.
And @ GM being a rip off. GM produces some of the best bang for the buck cars in existence. They're not trying to build the Z28 for every asshole that wants a Camaro. Those people can go get a 1LE and have damn good performance value.this post is meant as a joke and in no way should it be interpreted as a serious or meaningful reply. And the Camaro Z28 has never been a high end sports car ever. That's what Corvettes are. Camaro has always been for the "working man", now they can barely afford it as a basic model.
ZL1's aren't cheap either. Depending on the area most going for $55,000. Not a modest price.
Honestly why would anyone pay this much for one? I love GM cars but this is ridiculous.

1969 Camaro Prices:
V6 - $2600-$2800
V8 Base - $2700-$2900
RS - $2700-$3100
SS - $3000-$3900
Z28 - $3600
Indy Pace - $3200-$3500
All I could find for a ZL1 cost was $7200
1969 CHEVROLET CAMARO Information Specifications Resources Pictures
According to the CPI Calculator $3100 in 1969 = $19687 in 2013, $3900 = $24,767.55 in 2013, $7200 = $45724 in 2013.Last edited by SMWS6TA; 01-03-2014 at 12:47 PM.

I know how much stuff costs...but it has a union mark up that would knock 10-20,000 off the price of the vehicles, especially the high end vehicles. the Z28 has no reason to be $75,000...the ZL1 should have been the Z28 if they are going to charge this much. I also realize that these cars arent for everybody...but the Z28 used to be for just about everybody...the SS was the performance package "atleast in the 90s to 2002". I just think they did this whole thing backwards...When I think of a Z28 I think of a base model camaro with a big engine and some options...not the top of the line performance car.

Umm no. Taking the union out of the equation wouldn't knock 10-20 grand off the price. You don't understand how these things work quite obviously. And lolz at everybody just using some straight up inflation calculator to determine that all the Camaros are overpriced. GM is going to sell every single one of these limited production cars. And they probably wont make much if any money on them. People aren't factoring in the development costs on such a car, that cant be spread out over a large production run like other vehicles. They did the Z28 for enthusiasts, and 75k may very well have been the break even point or close to it.
