Old cars, in origianl shape with low miles and rare options go for a lot. I never thought a cuda would go for that though.... more like 500k if it was a rare model in perfect original shape. Shows how much I know about these kinds of things. Some of the 60s ferrari rare edition models have gone for 20 million. It wasn't too long ago that a ferrari GTO hand made by one of their famous body engineers sold for 52 million.

    Sadly now demodded :(

Price new was probably closer to $7,000 but still, I know what you mean.

At any rate, last year for the legendary Elephant motor, even though it was a hydraulic cam by now, it was still rated at 425 hp. Of the 11 Hemi 'Cuda convertibles built in 71, this car is 1 of 2 with a 4-speed and of those 2 the only one with it's "born with" engine. The 4-speed alone raises the price 25-50%. It also has the "Shaker" hood which was only available in 70 & 71.

I consider it a crying shame when it's so rare you can't even drive it...

Everything is worth what someone is willing to pay. Some people have money to burn it would seem. On the flip side, the seller is doing a happy dance

I buy cars to drive them. If I came to own this car, it'd see some miles, for sure... lots of exploratory, scenic day trip miles....
