I didnt know the car could detect a green light and launch itself...that pretty much makes it impossible to red light during a race. It also means that the car could surprise the hell out of you by jumping off the line when the light turns green lol

yep.....I also liked the "automatic spoiler" deal he spent quite a bit of time on. Really made the Crossfire owners happy to hear that I bet and now most can say hellcat drivers are scared to race them. Also....dodge didn't put wide tires on the back because he assumes dodge thought the buyer would do it.

I would love to answer that one for him.....Hey moron, It's called economics, Dodge didn't do it because they are cheap, like every other car company.....

Also, any Hellcat driver that loses to a boast 4 cyl car needs to quit driving and return the car.

I will say that a 275/40/20 tire on that car is severe under kill. That's only 1.2" wider than the stock tires on my bird and that car has 400 more HP than mine did factory.

I think the hellcat comes with Pirelli's so they arent "cheap" necessarily but they are definitely WAY too skinny. The viper has less HP and has 355's stock in the rear. Hell, even the fronts are wider than the rears on a hellcat. They are a 295 if I remember correctly...that should really put it into perspective.

Pat I'm fairly sure that a Pirelli 295 tire is cheaper than a 355. Many ways for them to skimp on. It's not just Dodge, it's all manufactures.

Oh I'm not defending them...car manufacturers usually put absolute junk tires on cars unless they are a higher end car. My truck "and all other current models" came with GoodYear HP Wranglers...absolute bottom of the barrel when its comes to tires. Terrible traction, sidewalls were so thin I could press them in when they were fully inflated, etc etc etc.

I was just saying at least they put Pirelli's on it instead of some other junk lol It was almost like they said "well...we're going to screw up the tires so lets try to be a little nicer than usual and put a decent set on it instead of complete junk."

I think Dodge could have and should have raised the price by another $1000-2000 and put wider tires on it...the ones it come with are pretty useless.

Hell, even my dads SRT is useless when it comes to tires...rears are 275's also and they just spin and spin and spin. His is the 470hp version so I could only imagine what 700hp would do to them.

Dodge isn't going to sell the Hellcat with drag radials FFS. I think that's what the guy in the vid meant. Dodge expects the owner to buy those types of tires if the owner wants better performance at the drag strip. That's pretty much not saying anything different of any manufacturer.

I'm not really saying anything about the compound used.....the pirelli isn't a terrible tire but to only have a 275 on the rear of that car is borderline reckless.

I might write my congressman about how crazy the tire setup is...in fact, I will lol cant wait to see the response I get...
