7 months of baseball
Ah. The Braves are playing now, and I get to work from home so I can watch it! Heyward has another opening bat home run. The Braves are wining 2-0 in the 6th.
All is good in the universe again. I'd like to have a good running thread for baseball like we did for football...

Ok, well my first complaint as an arm chair coach of the Braves' new manager:
He has pulled the pitcher after 5 innings. Bobby Cox used to drive me nuts pulling pitchers, even when they were in a rhythm. So many times he'd do that, and the new pitcher would give up the game. I hope this isn't going to be a trend for Gonazalez too. But it probably will be. That's one of the things I really don't like about baseball, the mentality around pitchers. Put a new pitcher in to face 1 batter, then pull him. Put the closer in, because that's what he's paid for, even if your starter is still in kicking ass. Go through 6 pitchers in 3 innings. It's all silly.

I dunno. Yankees are going to be a different team without Big Stein. His kids have proven much less agreeable to overpaying for every position. I think the high spending Yankees of the 90s and 00s are past. They'll stay the highest paying team I imagine, but much less exhorbitantly so than before methinks. So they might not be as dominant going forward...

Braves win!
We are currently the best team in all of baseball! Woo hoo!
Great start to the season. McCann had a perfect throw to pick off the steal at second. Heyward started with a home run. Chipper was 2 for 4 with a double. All the pitchers looked great. Only 161 more games left

Good that the Braves won.
I heard that if they didn't win the opening game there would be no beer.
Get it............................
You can't have beer, if your don't have the opener!

I quit watching baseball when the little pansies wanted more money and went on strike for a whole season. If Football or Basketball were to do the same thing then buh bye! Can't stand pieces of shit that make more in 2 days then the average person and bitch about it. Just my .02

Well, there have been labor disputes in every sport. Football had a strike shortened season in 82, exactly like baseball, and the NBA had a strike shortened season in 98. So you shouldn't be watching those already. It's usually the UNIONs within those sports, not the individual athletes themselves. Much like in other industries with unions...
