Noone does. Dropping billions more into a corrupt 3rd world nation that will stay a 3rd world country due to their own greedy politicians won't stop the children that are suffering now in the slightest though.

while you're very probably right about the corrupt politicians, i just think that a natural desaster like this is a different story and the immediate humanitarian aid should not be a question of politics. i don't think we should rebuild their stuff, but this is about saving lives right now.

I was involved in the Katrina humanitarian relief as well with helping stranded people in New Orleans. But no offense to anyone but there, the people had at least some warning to get out. You could see a category 5 hurricane coming. Earthquakes dont have the warnings. Just my .02

Slightly off topic, but one of the reports coming out of there is that the presidential palace collapsed too. The head Catholic Archbishop of the area is dead, and the U.N. headquarters there also came crashing down, killing several.

Main thing that needs to happen now is relief organizations get in there and set up some medical treatment facilities. A lot of people are hurt, and they don't have access to care right now. A hospital also collapsed.

Terrible suffering going on there. I hope they get the help they need.

Massive flood/hurricane vs 7.0 quake....hmmm yea not the same thing. A 7.0 isn't shit so for them to have 100k+ dead is ridculous. There was around 2k dead in Katrina which is a far cry from 100k. Now how about you name something on american ground that cost us 100k lives....have fun with that.

True. It's a 3rd world country though. Their priorities and money aren't on stable infrastructures. Now we're going to be spending trillions on rebuilding their infrastructures while our own roads and bridges are in Massive disrepair. Makes perfect sense doesn't it?

I agree that some help needs to be given though it's been three days. Having worked in hospitals for long enough (and knowing that Haiti is a humid tropical climate)the "rescue" efforts have most likely turned to body recovery. The survivors are the ones that need the help now. The government wouldn't even let the aide planes land yesterday due to some red tape going on. Why was that?

I think you know my politics(strong conservative). That being said, I can't see dropping that kinda monetary aid either. I'm talking medical supplies and food more than anything. Probably need to police the country back onto it's feet a little. You can't really have machette gangs chopping off tits and dicing up children Rwanda style. Reagan would have helped Haiti.

Yeah, probably done a better job than this asshat-in-chief. I'm just watching the "aide" numbers to see if they spend more on Haiti than they did on New Orleans, which IS American soil...

i agree. haiti's politicians are extremely corrupt. my church sponsers 7 churches down there and an orphanage. fortunatly we have a way to make sure that the money we send goes where it's suppose to go and not to the greedy dictating government. and there is alot of violence down there. my dad went down there a few years ago with his cousin as representatives of our church. when they went into town they had to be escorted by an armed guard, you never know when some crazy nut was gonna pull some crazy stunt. he also seen where they practice their voodoo (devil worship) he said it was pretty creepy.

I know I am going to sound heartless because I am.

Fuck hiati why the fuck are we pissing more fucking money away on a country that is 3rd world and will always be third world. Not surprising 100k dead they breed like rabbits instead of building a commerce or trade down there. I could give a shit less what happens down there or how about the tusnami that happened pissed away millions there to. How about instead of pissing american taxpayer money away in foriegn countries take care of america first. We had katrina and many other hurricanes and 9/11 or freak snowstorms across the usa did we see other countries rushing to our aide fuck no. But we continue to piss away money on 3rd world shitholes that could careless less about us.

I am pissed at the fact that the almighty obunghole decided he was going to send 100 millions in us taxpayers money down there fuck that how about take care of america first how about feed the hungry here, how about rebuild the american infrastructure instead of pissing taxpayer money on 3rd world shitholes that will always be shitholes because they always expect the handout.

I am with you on that 100%. Our own fucking bridges are collapsing and the roads are falling apart and the "Chosen One" sends hundreds of millions of OUR money to a shithole 3rd world country that HAS been a shithole 3rd world country since the 1700's and will STAY a shithole 3rd world country because that's all they know and because their own government wants NO better. Next time a bridge collapses over the Mississippi up North, let's see how much aide we get sent. I'm just keeping tabs, to see if they send more fucking money to Haiti than they did to New Orleans when Katrina hit. At least New Orleans is on American soil...
