6 flags atlanta lines
I'm considering visiting 6 flags atlanta soon. How are the lines? In St. Louis there is barely any wait at all. Walk up and get on.

Terrible.
Get there early. And I don't mean early as in "get there when the gates open", I mean early as in you're the first in line for when the gates open.

Of course it depends on the day of the week, the weather, if it's a holiday, that sort of thing.

Personally would not go this time a year. To f'in hot, made the mistake of going to disney ect last summer and it sucked. It was fairly busy but I have seen it much worse but the heat was horrible. I will never go during the summer again, I'll stick with fall/winter months.

Lines in ATL suck. Pay extra and get the gold pass if you want to ride everything. Otherwise you'll never ride everything in one day. You'll stand in line for OVER 2 hours for the big coasters.

Lines suck.
That said, be sure to ride Goliath and Superman.
Awesome coasters.

It's an amusement park, expect to wait regardless. If you want no lines, plan on going when there is a 30ish% chance of rain, and the sky is grey. Those are the days when rides will be walk-ons.

Good idea, except for when you still have to wait 30 minutes in line (down from 2 hours), and once you get to the front of the line, they close down all the rides for an hour due to lightning.
Or maybe I just have really bad luck when I go to amusement parks?

Yeah St. Louis isn't terribly bad, although some rides like the Thunder River always seem to have a ridiculous wait.

Waited an hour and a half for a ride once...longest wait for me. Was a water based ride and it was 90 degrees out. lol.

I've waited that long or longer for a new rollercoaster before, anymore I usually skip those kinds of lines.

If you can wait until the fall when school starts again and go on a weekday you will enjoy it MUCH more. Shorter lines and cooler temperatures...
Plus, I hope you're a 'normal' sized guy. The rides are clearly designed for teenage bodies. The park is all roller coasters now and every one of them has a different style seat. And my ass had a hard time fitting in most of them! I don't feel that big, but I am 240 lbs. Those rides really made me feel old and fat!!
They do have a fast line option, honestly I don't remember exactly how it worked, haven't been there in a few years and I've been to other parks since and I am getting the details mixed up. But I do remember using the fast line option to skip ahead rather well...

Plus, the old man in me wants to rant about how it used to cost 5 bucks with a can of coke to get in there. Now it's like 35 bucks! Grrrr....Last edited by Schmalgar; 07-01-2010 at 06:53 PM.

I know the feeling about having a supposed Fat Ass.
I run 250-260, and I have a 40" waist. The seatbelt in the back seat of the Superman rollercoaster at Darien Lake was literally 8-10 inches too short to go around me. I gave the rideop a WTF face, and he comes back and says "if you cant get the seatbelt on, you can't ride". Okay. So why in the fuck is it so short, you pimplefaced fuckball? My cousins wife, god bless her, has a rediculous ass. I am going to venture a guess at 50"+. She's a good woman, but she fit fucking fine like 3 rows up. So, the next year, I sat in the middle and rode quite comfortably, with room to spare. ffffuuuu

I've always hated being skinny at parks...I got 29 inch waste so I get in rides made to accomodate you fat fucks. And I got so much slop. I was on a roller coaster once where I felt like I went 7 rounds with Tyson I got beat around so badly. One coaster I literally floated 4 inches out of my seat. And the dickfup rideops seem to know us skinny people move alot too. I was on one coaster where leg press and over the shoulder thing were seperate. Well thing goes down on legs. Ratches down, no lifting back up. Then shoulder thing comes down. Coaster is set recessed into floor. So my shoulders were about even with the deck. Ride op comes over and fucking steps on the leg restraint. Ratcheting it down three fucking clicks. Couldn't even enjoy the ride after that.
