Since we've all had to recalibrate our affordability scale in recent years, it's only prudent to pursue truly budget-friendly engine combos that most hot rodders can build without running up the credit cards.

I already have my next motor for my TA. It's a L33 Aluminum 5.3 Shortblock sitting at home in the garage. All I have to do is slap my heads/intake/headers on it and we are good to go! The best thing is it was a junkyard pullout from a 2006 Envoy Denali (30,000 miles for $300. Ready to be boosted!

You can't beat the price of them. I am going to stuff that in when I think the 347 needs to be refreshed. It is going on 8 years and still going strong but I know it can happen at anytime. Plus they will hold up to a decent amount of abuse and boost. They have a perfect comp. ratio for boosting.
