5.0 calling me out..

ok guys and girls...

i have a friend that has a stock 04 mach1 y talked and we want to race just to see what our cars can do.. his is m5

mine is 00 ss m6 with 3.73s, slp air lid, and ported tb,

i dnt what my chances are,, im not afraid of it.. we are not experts on racing so, its gonna be all on the cars..

but there another car calling me out,, is a 91 5.o m5, it has drag radials.. it had a procharger b4.. he smoked a 04 mach1 with a supercharger and some other 5.0s, and stock mach1s..

now the guys says the car has a 347 stroker on the car,,
he claims is way faster than before..
he got 3.55s gears on the rear end.. idk much bout mustangs so idk if is true.

so what you guys think?
im more afraid of the 5.0 mach1 not really because i smoked a o6 bullit b4 my mods i got now,,

we are gonna race,, and im a post it on the kill section.. am a try to take a video and see whats up.. we might go tonight,, but im not sure to hot for cops at the racing place..

im not afraid of racing him.. im a fraid to fuck up my rear end..

Depends on mods for your car. If all you have is listed then the best launch area would be where you hook the best. Once you start throwing FI (Super Chargers/Turbo) in the mix, shit can get ugly. If your on 3.73's stock rear, a hard launch isn't good but won't for sure break it. Practice, practice, practice and when you think you have it down........practice some more

im sure on the take off my car will do good,, my clutch isnt that great since is the stock one lol
but im a try my best i can and show them what a chevy can do,,
if i lose wich i hope im not lol
im a do the revenge and that i will get the win for sure,, some mods i will get done

If you have any reason you think your clutch/rear won't handle the abuse then don't race. Nothing worse then breaking down while trying to whip Ford butt. Plus wrecking shit can cause other shit to break. Don't dump the clutch either, feather it out (Slip) so that you get moving without frying the tires. Good write up about this in the drag section (I know your not doing it at the track) but it helps.

If that 5.0 is a 347 stroker with a procharger and all you have is an 00 ls1 with a few bolt ons............... You are gonna get your doors blown off bro. Just tellin the truth. That could be a 500+horsepower car you are talking about. Do you think your bolt on ls1 is making 500 horses?

im a check that out,,

i honestly dnt think my clutch is the perfect codition for racing,
the guy will think im running away if i tell him my clutch is not good.. but at the same time i dnt want my car to brake down in front of them.. my car will be the only chevy at that time lol
theres like 20 guys they all drive mustangs,, so i have to make chevy look good..
what ill do just tell him to wait a little longer while i get my clutch fixed up.. he might say yes since his car needs a tune..

right now it doesnt have the supercharger no more,, he took it off and put a new 347 stroker.. i knw my car cant keep up with it,, but the guy on the 5.0 is talkin shit and i said ok ill race you.. i knw he got all the chances to win..

the mach1 im not afraid of it..

should take the mach if you can drive. the 347 is a wild card. without knowing what kind top end is on the engine were just shooting in the dark.

I'm sure I have more experience driving, the guy on the mach1 can't drive that well.

We are thinking on goin to the track. We just dnt knw when.

The 5.0 I'm sure I'm a lose for sure but I still gonna post it here lol.

EDIT: If you think your car hauls ass now and you think the clutch is on it's last leg, think how it will feel when it grips how it should

I had the same mods on my z I pulls harder than the ss both m6 but I had no problems on that car with the clutch.

What could be a good choice?
I been thinking on getting the ls7 kit.

LS7 kit from KySpeed is what I run in mine. I have H/C/etc and it holds perfect for me. Pedal feels like stock too

Another thing. 98-00 camaro have problems with hydraulics right? It a cylinder that go inside the trans. Does it come with ls7 kit or I have to buy it separate.
