    4th of July fireworks

fireworks were prohibited in my town, the only ones out there were done by the professional company
I rode my bike up this dirt, rocky road to get to the viewpoint. as expected, there were cars there already.
here's a view, downtown south lake tahoe on the left, lake to the right

here's more of the lake, look at these effin lights - they're all boats! they're probably still waiting to dock

    it started in Camp Richardson

main fireworks in slt soon joined

    getting bigger

    awesome

sorry, no pictures of a big finale as I did NOT want to get stuck behind 15 cars trying to go down the dirt road

the come back was awesome, splitting lanes all the way as traffic was stopped for 5 miles
and yes, I suck at taking pics of fireworks, I love taking night pics but there was the first time I shot fireworks

Nice pics, I made a video of our town tonight. They are prohibited in the city limits, if i posted the video you can see me scanning the whole skyline, everything was lit up constantly for like 3 hours, no one gives a fuck about rules around here I guess haha

Timed exposures between 8-20 seconds @f/12-22, manual focus. Rig is a Canon 40D with a 17-40f/4L lens.

I was shooting from a tripod. It was just very windy up there, that's why it looks shaky. Exposures 2-4 seconds and a lot of wind did that

Wow, that must have been very windy up there. Never would have thought.

I should have known better though, you usually take great pics.

very nice! Didn't have a tripod myself, so all my pics are blurry or underexposed (can fix that in PS but no time).
