    402 in and running...

Idle...WOT to 4500 or so RPM's...WOT in car to about 4500...

Need to make sure the clutch is in order...then just drive it.
Feels nice to drive it though, but I won't be driving it much more until I get the clutch worked out. No sense in damaging something over something minor. Plus...the weather is going to complete poop for about a week.

where did you get your 402 from? and what kind of problems if any did you run into during the install process. Do you have a built tranny, upgraded driveshaft or rear end yet? Im thinking about doing this also but am not sure if I want to upgrade everthing first before I buy the motor.

Oh and what kinda power is your 402 puting out?

I am looking for 500 RWHP with this build. Not really sure where I stand yet.

TSP built the motor...LQ9 block, Lunati rods, Mahle pistons.
TSP cam...248/254 629/622 113. Idle is turned WAY up right now...will be changing that fairly soon.
Tranny - stock T56 (low miles, should be good for a while)
Rear end - stock (probably dead first time at Bandi)
    Driveshaft - stock

    Install took 7-8 months.
Seemed like it was always a bolt I forgot to order or a very minor part. Or I changed my mind on something.
Once the motor was back in I had a couple issues. I had done my research and missed something important. My pushrods were too long holding the valves open just enough to cause issues. Shorter pushrods...problem solved.
It was starting to get to me though. I wanted this to be finished up last July. Had some things happen at home/work and that got delayed a good chunk.

Ahh so you bought a short block and selected all the internals yourself? Im looking to get a 402 that can handle a supercharger.. Id like to make 700+ hp. How does the block you build compare to the pre built blocks such as...

This pretty much was a 'pre-built' block.
Texas Speed was running a deal on the LQ9 402 shortblock. I just had them upgrade the rods.
This motor was originally bought to take boost. Pistons are -12cc dish. Things changed...decided to get compression to 11:1 with a thin gasket and smaller cc chambers.

That link is for a longblock. Although I am sure they will change about anything on there if you asked them too.
I did have to order my own heads, cam, valvetrain.
I would say it would be compariable.
