not a fan.....that could also be the "rendering". That third picture looks like one my son could've drawn.

I strongly dislike it, they really should have drawn less from the angular Ferrari 599 and Nissan GTR and more from the smooth stingray concept, the only detail from the ray i can see is the bracket shaped indents around the chevy volt taillights, it's a shame, corvettes have never copied the looks of major competitors to such a high degree

It looks bigger than the current vette and mid engine I hope not.

Well I guess you can count on one thing is that gm's concept drawings never look like what the car comes out to be.

Didnt think it would be mid engine although would it really be that bad? Might up the performance a bit.

no no no, I didn't mean for this to become a front vs. mid-engine Corvette thread. It's not happening, lets not go there.
read the article, this isnt a GM render, it's a journalist render, but unlike previous ones, these guys have seen the actual car and either took pictures of it and rendered from those, or did the rendering right there in front of the thing.Last edited by justinmc978; 11-14-2011 at 11:32 AM.

I seen a few articles but nothing too clear if its a dohc or push rod I do like the smaller displacement but not to for sure on the dohc thing.

I would love for that to be true, but you have to take Jalopnik's credibility into account, they know making something like this up and saying it's legit would be shooting themselves in the foot later down the road.
What they could have seen was the C7 equivalent of what the C5 alpha and beta cars were in the late 80s/early 90s, which were basically C5s with some slightly different cues... I really do hope they change up the taillights and flat rear window treatment, other than that I'm decently happy with it.

from the door back is just hideous and doesn't flow with the rest of the car. I remember reading an article not to long ago with the corvette design team that said the rear end would be significantly smaller than the current car which doesn't seem to go with the renderings here so idk. Guess we'll just have to wait and see
