    2014 Shelby GT500 VS 2014 Camaro Z/28

I may have to go with the GT500 in Deep Impact Blue on this one. Although 67-68k for the Snake and 75k for the Z/28 anymore is getting a little ridiculous. Corvette pricing territory.

This is true. 10 years ago the price on the Terminator Cobras was mid 30s. Prices sure have sky rocketed.

I still cant believe that a Z28 costs that much...yes its state of the art, yes it runs circles around exotics, but its still a camaro at the end of the day lol

I'd take the Z28 and not give two shits that the GT500 was faster in a straight line. Chevrolet will sell every single Z28 they make at that price.

For those prices I'd take a nicely equipped C7 Corvette and put the thousands I save into...

    My pocket.

Those thousands will likely be gone just as quickly as the value of that C7 drop. The Z's value will not even come close to dropping as drastically as the C7 will, in comparison.

What's next, Prius vs a Camry?

For foreign it would be Prius vs Leaf. For domestic it would be Volt vs Tesla...
    67 Camaro: K-K + 797-z (look it up), 454/Th400/4.10 12-bolt = 6mpg, PS/PDB/PW tilt, tach, gauges...

2005 Corvette LS2/M6 Magnetic Red Metallic (What else would it be?) w/ Cashmere interior

    2002 Z28: NBM/Tan, MTI smooth lid, smooth bellows, !AIR, !cats, 1-3/4" QTP SS LT's, 2-1/2" TD's with X-pipe, MagnaFlows dumped at axle, custom welded SFC's, MidWest Chassis body mount adjustable T/A, 3400 stall, 3.23 gears (was 2.73). Tuned: 343rwhp/357rwt (before TD's). Best: 12.559 @ 108+, 1.73 60' @ 3500' DA w/MT ET Street DR's.

Guerrillakilla13 has already lost to both of those in his f-body

That Z is no joke. When you're lapping faster than the GTR you're doing something right. I would own one in a heartbeat but I'd need some more speakers in it.

They just did an article in Super Chevy about it. They said the price was comparable to a 71 Z28 Camaro that someone built for the track. Still a lotta money though.

If you are worried about resale value there are few brand new cars on the market that will give a better return than putting your cash in a mutual fund.

Buying a car as an investment is usually a losing proposition.

Sometimes it works out OK, most times not.

Ask the guys who spent over 100K on the early 90's ZR1 Vette or the early Acura NSX.

I'm not worried about anything - nor was I comparing any car purchase versus investing in a mutual fund - where in the fuck does that even become part of the conversation. I was simply stating what I believe as a fact between the two. A baseline "nicely equipped" C7 will never hold it's value compared to the new Z - and the Z will still likely kick its ass in performance around nearly any track.
