General Motors is now down to four brands instead of its previous eight; Ford has reduced its nameplates from three to two with the demise of Mercury; Chrysler's display was combined with that of its new partner, Fiat. The sackcloth and ashes have been cleared away and the Detroit three are getting back to business-with the emphasis on product.
