it's a good idea. people want fuel economy, power, and the style of the car. they'll get pretty good fuel economy out of the 4 cylinder, pretty good power...260 horse is nothin to frown at especially out of a 4 cylinder, and they will still get a camaro. plus it may push more units out on the streets than the mustang which would keep the program viable to gm and keep them interested in maintaining the line. they'll still be offering v8's and probably a v6 model. i see nothing wrong with it at all.

ford had turbo 4's during the 80's and i've seen some people make those pretty damn fast. the camaro will have the same motor as the solstice gxp which will appeal to the tuners and, as stated, push more units onto the streets giving gm an upper hand. i like the idea.

i hate the look of the rear end. No Z28? chevy has watered down the SS name in recent years

As it was back in the begining, first gen Camaros, the Z-28 will once again be the top of the line Camaro. The SS will be a submodel to the Z-28 like it was in the begining.
I liked the prototype, but somehow the production model just doesn't look the same. i don't know about the $30K plus price range on the Z-28. It's a little steep. For that price I can buy another Vette or mod mone some more!

Green- 94 Camaro 3.4
I'm stoked.... The 2.0 turbo is a beefy little 4.... its the same design that is making over 1000hp in the drag cars(while that isnt directly relavent) those motors are alot easier to modify then the 3.6's.... And of course, who really cares, because the SS and Z28's are going to rip the competitions asses...
Sure, it seems expensive, but thats where the prices are headed for new cars these days... that puts it directly against the SRT Chargers and Challengers, and LESS the the GT500 (which is the only stang that can come close to competing... the V6 'maro is going to have as much power as the GT stangs, sound familar? LOL)

A year after launch, Chevy will introduce a convertible version and after that a high-performance Z28 model with a super-charged 6.2-liter sibling to the Corvette ZR1's LS9 motor known as the LSA.
WOOt they make us wait even longer for the other two options good marketing this car is going places.

why would they make the z28 a supercharged motor with around 480hp and an SS with 400hp? whats up with that? Shouldn't the SS have the S/C motor?

The problem with that is that turboed 4's really don't get great gas mileage. For instance an LS1 with an M6 gets better mileage than an STI, Evo or SRT-4 and the 2.0l turbo gets 19/28 in the Solstice which is MUCH lighter than the Camaro will be.

Making sure the camaro will flop. It has been sitting in wait for so long by the time it comes out 5$ a gallon will make this car untouchable for the market they are trying to get to buy it.
Even with a 4banger it will be viewed as a toy and people right now in the market for new cars are trying to buy a car that gets great mileage with a better warranty.
I wish we could compete with jap crap but its better to bring in that shit to our country and make others rich.
