Who thinks this car is badass? I know I do! However, if I had 100K to spend on a car, it would undoubtedly be spent on the new ZR1!

i think its OK but not really badass. looks like a $30-40K car to me and its not even ALL that fast. Z06 would be my first choice without a doubt if i had that kind of cash.

Meh, not a big fan. I think it's actually ugly. Maybe if they painted the back door the same color as the car it might look better.

It really doesn't seem like an Audi to me. Audi makes fast 4 doors. This seems like a strange market for them to get into.

If looks could kill, that car would be deadly.... It's way over priced. I can't see myself spending that kind of money on an import / european car.....

So? My blender has more torque than any given Honda, that doesn't mean it's faster. The R8 with the V8 has a faster quarter mile time than an LS1 f-body.

And anyway... I wasn't talking about this V8 one, I was talking about the one that comes with the Lamborghini V10, which is why I said:

I love the R8 but it costs way too much. Even the RS4 is way over priced IMO. But, Audi is one of those prestige brands so there ya go. If they actually build the V10 TDI, that will be impressive! Right now there is a V12 TDI concept car making stops at the big auto shows so that's promising.

IMO there should be 3 trims:

R8 4.2L V8 (as it is offered now)
R8 V10 (ala Gallardo)
R8 5.5L V10 TDI (stump ripping low end torque + MPG)

You guys are nuts, i'm an american v8 lover to the end but the audi r8 is jus straight up tits! how could you look at that car and not think thats one of the sexiest cars ever made?

I have an LS1 fbody (and have owned 2 so far), but to compare the two isn't even right. This car outclasses an LS1 fbody every day, and all days of the week, and it should. How many modified LS1's have you seen that will go 190 mph? .....................yea, that's what I thought.

I agree

but seriously, I know the answer to my question, and it's because LS1 Fbody owners don't care about top end ...... in Europe they put a bigger emphasis on top end.

But still, there most likely isn't one category that a stock LS1 Fbody wins against this R8.........except it's American made!

Which is another reason my 100K would go to a new ZR1.

I'd buy a Viper before an R8 just for the very reason it's American made as well.

...I wasn't comparing a fbody, I said FOR THE PRICE of a fbody to a r8, the power to money ratio isnt worth it.

Having actually seen one going down the road, not just pictures of it... I can honestly say it is fuckin stunning!!
the headlights grab your attention and then the rest of the car makes your head turn 180 degrees when it goes by you the opposite direction.

definitely not american muscle but i would love to own one!
