damn grandma! 46 year old car...91 year old woman...lifetime warranty everything on a car with over 560,000 miles...original engine. kudos to her for makin that thing last...and it looks IMMACULATE for it's age and mileage. puts most every one of our cars to shame on here i would wager.

Doubly shocking that it's in the land of salt roads and doesn't have rust holes big enough to stick a Quarter Pounder through.

Pretty sweet car, I would like to do that with a new Vette. Think it would last that long with lots of TLC?

Lifetime warranty FTW. Jcpenny sold car batteries, never knew that.

I believe in those days (they sold many different things) it was to compete with other stores. Such as Montgomery Wards, and Sears @ the time.. Sears changed dirrects and Pennies put Wards out of business I believe.. Sears also used to sell complete home kits.. My uncle still lives in an old Sears home.. Note these homes were NOT mobile homes or trailers either.. They came as a big pile of lumber and so forth and had to be built.. Now Sears gets their shit from Ching Chong Land and Penny's sells clothes noone wants to wear...
To the OP, that's really cool.. Those cars were make of real steel too, not something poseing as steel like today's thin skinned cars..Last edited by Smittro; 07-15-2010 at 08:46 PM.

Comet is based on the Falcon platform, so does that mean my car has another 400,000+ miles to go?
