I see him as a modern day Sean Connery. If you watch Sean when compared to the other bond actors (- Craig) he was the toughest. If Sean was able to do what Craig can do in today's films I believe Sean would have.

Could really not disagree more. Daniel Craig is not like Sean Connery the best bond of all time. The movies themselves are not like the old, it seems bond is being questioned, even his loyalty to his country and MI6 is always in question. He falls in love with women and is clearly hurt when they die, leave or are found out to be traitors. Then he goes to hunt down Vespers boyfriend who got her into that mess when they had agents everywhere who could have handled it no problem. He almost dies and is saved by her ass because he is a shitty spy. Many drunk college girls know to watch there drinks and who makes them and James Bond the best spy falls prey to it.

Sean Connery as Bond was a mans man back when men were real men. Even when women said no he knew they meant yes and he took that shit, then they would give in and it wasn't because someone was watching them so they had to kiss it was because he wanted to get his dick wet and maybe get some information at the same time.

Bond has become a horrible spy in recent years, he has been captured, tortured and rescued like a helpless damsel and even been forced to be traded for other prisoners because his weak ass can't escape on his own. Sure he got captured back in the day, sometimes because he wanted to, sometimes not. But he would always escape.

Now I understand that this has a lot to do with the story and not the actor but IMO these actors play bond too soft and a Blonde james bond WTF. These movies and bonds action in them is a prime exaple of if it ain't broke don't fix it..... well they fixed it or did the lessen it somehow?

Sorry if I seemed excited but Daniel Craig is pretty far away from Connery as bond because of his look, the way he plays him and the recent story lines. We live in a softer world where shit is sugarcoated and these movies have changed with the times in that sense as well. Personally I prefer the Roger Moore times to these movies even if there were silly sound put into scenes with stunts and even though Roger Moore is gay lol. Sure the action scenes are bigger and technology provides us with more tools but I think Bond has become softer over the years.

Don't get me started on the whole female M thing. So much emotion and bleeding heart nonsense. All the heart to hearts with bond.. Are you ok? Are you sure you won't miss her..... do you need some time off.

Here's a lack of toughness question for ya. Would you be cracking jokes and egging someone on if they were whacking you in the balls with a thick rope? Every Bond has been different and you just prefer the Connery version and that's fine, many do.

I thought that entire scene was a disgrace to James Bond, what kinda BS was that. He is captured, stripped and beaten, then passes out as he is rescued once again. Another prime example of how soft and weak this bond is.

I do agree that every Bond brings something different and plays the character a bit different, like I said Moore brought weird little jokes and flute noises. But to say Craig is like Connery is pretty far fetched IMO.

Zinergy, remember that's kinda the point... These movies are a reboot, showing Bond on his first missions... He is not yet the polished spy that Sean Connery's 007 was. In particular, we are being shown why Bond no longer falls for women, why he only seduces them for info or for flings...

As for being captured, that's happened plenty of times before, although yeah he usually gets the bad guy to reveal some info and then escapes on his own...

    -----

I like this Bond as well. But I've liked them all. I don't know if I'd say Craig is better or worse than Connery. Connery was awesome, period. It's hard to compare the movies because they're 40+ years apart, and as someone mentioned they just make movies differently now...

I never said Craig is like Connery. You can't compare any of them with the other, as they all bring their own uniqueness to the table and everyone has their favorites. I personally don't like the Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan Bonds and think Daniel Craig is the best Bond played, next to Sean Connery. Roger Moore was okay in my book.

Great point and I agree. Wasn't Casino Royale the first Bond book written by Fleming?

I liked most of the Bonds, George Lazenbee or some shit was pretty bad though. I even like craig in some scenes but I do not see him as a modern day Connery.

Anyone seen the original Casino Royale.... the old spoof movie? Weird as shit

Not sure if it was the first book or not. But yeah remember in the beginning of the Casino Royale movie he was going for his first kill to get his double-0 status...

    -----

Ok yep, the all knowing Wikipedia does in fact say Casino Royale was Fleming's first 007 novel...

Didn't say you did. Roger Moore was OK in my book as well. I loved live and let die. It was ironic that he was gay though lol.

Yes but he didn't write anywhere near 23 bond books so it is not like they follow his writings anyway.

Watch one and find out. Whoever directs the new ones likes that up close jerky camera style that seems to be the rage now. I can't stand it. Beyond that, if you like intrigue, spy stuff, fights, gadgets, witty remarks, and babes then yeah you're missing out...

Some are very good, some are pretty bad.

For my personal choice of the best of each Bond...

    Sean Connery: Goldfinger or Thunderball

Roger Moore: Live And Let Die or The Spy Who Loved Me

Timothy Dalton: The Living Daylights, though this is not really that great of a Bond movie.

Pierce Brosnan: GoldenEye. A good Bond flick. Too bad his Bond movies after this one went downhill.

    Daniel Craig: Casino Royale
