00 Z24 Cavalier,
55,000 miles, fully loaded, paint job is good
03 Sunfire Se,
27,000 miles , paint job is like new, don't have crise control, power locks or windows though like the cavalier has
I'm probaley going to sell one so I'd like to hear some input. Its my daily driver and will see snow.

Sunfire Option 1:
Pro's: Good Fuel Economy run on 87, Lower miles, 3 years newer car, balance of warranty??, less gadgets to break or malfunction, cheaper to operate. .Go with the Sunfire, It's a 4 banger right?
Con's: 4-Banger, Basic commuter car with basic interior. .no toys, lower insurance premium, non-babe magnet. . . Speed Bump for Big Semi's
Z-24 Option 2:
Pro's: V6??, Sportier car, power accessories, more comfortable & fun to drive and still get reasonable fuel economy, potential babe magnet. . . Can out run most Big Semi's. . .Go Z-24
Con's: Worse fuel economy. . .89?, 3 years older with more gadgets to break, no warranty, High miles, Higher insurance hit (probably not by much), little more expensive to operate.
If you want to be practical and sensible energy conscious Tree Hugger go with 1.
If you want a sportier car that you and your girl won't be ashamed to be seen in then go option 2.
I personally wouldn't be caught dead in either one but I'm shallow and self-conscious J/K!
I would probably go with the Z-24 and drive it till it falls apart.

the Z24 comes with keyless entry too, it's standard so I know you've got it. . .don't hide it from us. . .lol
rainman, the Z24 is a 150hp 4 banger, just in case you were wondering. I dunno what the sunfire has, but anything less than 150 is uncivilized. (aside from my daily driver, it pimps it's 130hp as good as it can )

The Z24 IS 2.4 150HP. Sunfire 2.2 140 hp.
It seems like the sunfire has more pull in the top end but the z24 has it in the lower end but both are still slow. The sunfire seems to ride better though and the seats seem more comfortable. The biggest think I would miss is the power windows and keyless entry.

It was my girls car til we broke up. Im not using the car as a babe magnet though since I have the camaro for that. Keep the opnions coming.

Yea, my mistake, haven't kept up on the Z-24's for a while. Back in the '80's - mid '90's they had 6's in 'em, guess the last year for the V6 was 1994?
It's just a matter of which you prefer. I still vote for the Z-24.
Anyway, good luck on your choice
P.S.If you want a sportier car that you and your girl won't be ashamed to be seen in then go option 2

Huh! Thats odd, but then I have heard that women prefer the Sunfire over other similar makes and models.
Glad my wife is a V8 junkie! She can't stand 4 cylinders and Imports.
We rented a Sunfire once. . . .She hated it!
She tolerates *V6's and loves V8's.
*Notable obvious exceptions of course. . . . Grand Nationals, Cyclones, Typhoons -n- such.
Oh, well I'm rambling on here.
Good Luck on your choice,
Later. . . .

She wants a Trans Am or a Gto but I won't get to drive them now. At least I have my own. I was the one that got her into like v8s to because she used to want an Eclispe.

I've got a 00 Z24 & love it! Bought it new and still driving her. It is green & has all the options also. It just rolled 76,000 miles & haven't dont nothing but breaks on it. Still running great & plenty of power for a little car!
