** Help - LS1 stuck throttle issue **
Last month, I wrecked my 2002 SS when my throttle hung wide open and I spun into a brick wall. I'm facing charges and have a trial coming up soon.
The stuck throttle could have been caused by the cruise control, stuck linkage or a bunched up floormat. At this time, it's still uncertain but it did happen.
I need some documentation of any other LS1 owners who have ever experienced a stuck throttle situation. Any evidence could help in my defense in court.
If you have a story or know of any links to one, email me at:
rfingram24@bellsouth.net
Thanks, ya'll...

Yikes you could not have jambed the tranny in neutral?
All the stories similar to this that I have ever heard they got the car in neutral and shut the car down.
Sorry about your car but hopefully the charges won't stick.

It happened too quick, in 1st gear at the top of the power band. If it had been in a higher gear, it wouldn't have pulled so violently. Hitting the brakes did nothing but turn the car 360 and into the brick office building on the side of the road. It was over in a couple of seconds, I was pushed so hard back into the seat, it was almost impossible to react.

Sorry about you loss. Even if you throttle got stuck or something I'm not sure the judge will buy it. Is the car a total loss?

The insurance company first said it was totaled but I convinced them the value was higher than their offer for the "total" and then I helped the body shop find the SS parts at SLP and GM Parts Direct. We were able to get the percentage of total down and the insurance company decided to fix the car. It's in the shop now, being repaired.

after t-boning a brick wall I'm not sure I would've wanted it back. Won't ever be the same again.
The closest thing I've ever heard to this is people leaving their cruise control in the on position and it engaging and spinning the car out.
