This week has some challenging picks in it for me.......I've had a few good weeks back to back now. I'm currently 3rd out of 80 in the pick em league I'm in and 1 point out of first (first 2 guys are tied at 130 points). This week could really bite a person in the ass though.
Games I'm on the fence about:
CAR VS NO: Saints looked good last week on the road so one would think this is an easy pick but it's division so it'll be close and both teams are pretty terrible. Taking NO because they're at home and hopefully can continue the improvements they had last week.
PIT VS CIN: Cin has been playing pretty good football......3 weeks ago this was an easy pick but PIT has regressed quite a bit. I'm still not convinced Cinci is for real though and PIT is in a must win situation.
NYG VS TEN: No idea who to pick on this one....both teams suck ass. I flipped a coin and NYG won the flip.
KC VS ARZ: A month ago this would've been an important game but unfortunately both teams have major issues and neither is playing well. I think there's a chance both miss the playoffs. Taking the home team.
SEA VS PHI: Seattle seems to be turning the corner but Philly is pretty damn good and at home.....game could go either way but I think Philly has the edge.
NE VS SD: NE would be the smart mans pick but you gotta watch SD.....they can beat good teams every now and then and they're at home.

Why not? Chicago's D couldn't hold a fart. They're like number 30th or so.

This team? This team that allowed DA BEARS to score 28 points? Looks like the same team that let the Eagles score 33. Obviously one of the best running backs in the league is going to have great success against a defense that wouldn't be able to stop a cheerleader. I fully expected Dallas to put up 40+ on chicago in this game...what I did not expect was for Chicago to be able to post almost 30 on Dallas.
When Dallas can run, they are unstoppable. But stop DeMarco Murray, and you've stopped the Cowboys...that's the plan Philly used and will use again next week, and the plan Indy and Washington will use. Dallas should beat washington but I just don't see them winning in Philly and beating Indy. Luck is going to put on a clinic against that secondary.
No doubt that Dallas needs to stick with this formula, combined with a complete overhaul of management and coaching, you might have a serious team again. With Dez looking for real money, they should follow the Eagles lead (ala DeSean Jackson) and just ditch him...they don't need him. Work on that defense and for god's sake draft a replacement for Romo, cause they will need one soon. Build depth behind Murray and continue to develop the ground game...which the offense is perfectly built for, and we'll see a completely different and very dangerous team. But JJ will do none of this, he'll give Dez the biggest contract in the league, leaving them with no cap space and handicapping his team for the next five years at the end of which they will have reverted back to their early-2000's form with a star receiver and great running back and nothing else (remember the Quincy Carter era?).
New road, same destination.

how in the hell do you go into pittsburgh and beat them one week and then lose at home to carolina only scoring 10 points? Someone needs fired over a game like that. I can actually see us giving up 41 points because our D is beyond shitty but for the offense to only score 10 points at home is inexcusable. It only proves what I've known since week 2.....saints are a terrible ass team this year. We should've dropped every game and at least got a 1st overall pick out of the deal.

buffalo's D is pretty good......that doesn't surprise me. The saints surprise me....a total implosion is coming. I bet there's some serious transactions made in the off season. People are going to lose their jobs over this season....as they should. Sean Payton needs to fire a bunch of position coaches. I actually like Rob Ryan but I bet he's gone. Vitt and that sorry ass McMahon need gone. Our special teams is probably the only unit worse than our D right now. I was hunting today and watching the play by play on the phone. I saw like a 40 yard return and a 30 yard return and thought someone messed up on the play by play.....seems like it's been years since we've had ANY returns much less double digits. That Saunders kid must be the real deal because it's definitely not coaching.

We haven't had good returns since we got rid of Sproles...I'm with you on Rob Ryan. I like him and think he does a good job but he's getting a raw deal right now. Loomis royally f*cked Ryan with the players he gave him...Loomis also f*cked the offense as well. We let way too much talent walk out the door just to pay Graham as much money as he makes...I don't care what anybody says, he's overrated and is not worth what he makes. We'll never be able to bring in good players with him and Brees eating up all of the money the organization has...we have to have Brees which means Jimmy needs to go. We can't have both Brees and Graham and bring in good defensive players and a badass receiver...it's impossible.

I would rather have Jimmy than Brees these days.........Brees' cap hit is too much to have good players around him. When he signed the deal I knew at that point we were screwed. We need a young QB making next to nothing so we can build the rest of the team. It's became pretty obvious this year that Brees can't play cornerback. We also have an offense full of budget talent surrounding 2 guys we paid a ton of money too. You need QB's like Manning and Brady who are willing to not break the bank in order to pay other players. Those are 2 guys that "get it". Brees wanted a ton of money and he wanted it front loaded in the contract and now every time he gets picked or sacked I smile a little. You reap what you sow.
